Dear Portugal Invitational Volunteers, 

Welcome to inaugural edition of the Portugal Invitational, the first ever PGA TOUR Champions event in Europe. The Portugal Invitational will be held at The Els Club Vilamoura, 31 July - 2 August hosted by World Golf Hall of Famer, and four-time major winner, Ernie Els. The tournament will feature a field of 78 players that are true legends of golf, including members of the World Golf Hall of Fame, Ryder Cup Heroes, and multiple major winners competing for prize purse of USD $3 million.

We are excited to announce the first wave of player commitments.   In addition to tournament host Ernie Els, Ernie will be joined by fellow World Golf Hall of Famer, Colin Montgomerie from Scotland, and European Ryder Cup Heroes in Spaniard Miguel Angel Jimenez, and Darren Clarke from Northern Ireland. Joining them will be Americans Justin Leonard, a USA Ryder Cup hero and winner of the 1997 Open Championship, and 2009 Open Championship winner and the defending Charles Schwab Cup champion, Stewart Cink.

PGA TOUR Champions events are dependent on the dedication and abilities of its volunteers as it takes hundreds of volunteers and thousands of hours of support to ensure the success of the Portugal Invitational. Volunteer applications are now being accepted on-line at www.portugalinvitational.com.  Please click on the on the button below to find out more information regarding the volunteer committees, information on our requirements, as well as the great benefits of volunteering for the Portugal Invitational.

Each volunteer who works a minimum of three (3) shifts will receive the following:

·       Two (2) Polos and One (1) Hat courtesy of our official

apparel provider, Reflo

·       Meals and Beverages during your volunteer shift

·       Voucher for one round at one of the Vilamoura Golf

courses (Laguna, Millennium, Pinhal or the Old

Course), subject to availability.  Valid for one year.

PERSONAL INFORMATION 1/7

DESCRIPTION OF ROLES 2/7

Below you will find a brief description of all available roles. You can select your preferred roles on the following page.

Course Marshals - You will be allocated to a specific location on the golf course by your hole captain and will be responsible for crowd & noise control and provide spectators with general information. (Days of Operation: Friday to Sunday)

Roving Marshals - You will walk 18 holes with a designated match and supply marshal services, such as crowd & noise control and also assist with player movement. (Days of Operation: Friday to Sunday)

Walking Scorers - Record statistics and scores of players on a mobile device during competition rounds. Must be able to walk 18 holes without a break. (Days of Operation: Friday to Sunday)

Standard Bearer / Carryboard - Accompany each group of professionals during play and display their scores on a standard sign. Must be able to carry a standard sign (approx. 6 kg) and walk 18 holes without a break.

Leaderboards - Manage and update a static on course leaderboard. (Days of Operation: Friday to Sunday)

Corporate Hospitality - Serve as a concierge for all corporate sponsors in tents and sponsors. These volunteers will assist security to ensure only properly credentialed guests are allowed access in the designated areas. (Days of Operation: Friday to Sunday)

Volunteer Administration - Assist with inventory, assembly and distribution of volunteer uniform packages prior to tournament week. Oversee and manage the volunteer headquarters during tournament week. Duties include but are not limited to; answering volunteer questions, handout lunch vouchers and volunteer lunches, and maintain a clean volunteer headquarters. (Days of Operation: Monday to Sunday.

Media Center Support - Committee will assist in general administrative duties to include (but not limited to) answering phones and questions and assisting in large mailings, printing various items and assisting with registration of journalists.
